In class I have talked about goal setting with the students. Here are some quick questions I found on one of my favorite blogs unclutterer.com to scan over at the end of any given day; of course, some days are better than others. Write in your writer’s workshop notebook or on a blog post in response to the following questions. If you do this a few times over a few weeks you may start to see some patterns emerge and you can start to modify your behavior to improve the quality of your experiences.
- What processes went well today?
- Why did those processes succeed?
- What processes didn’t go well today?
- Why did those processes not succeed?
- What changes can I make in the future to turn these non-successful processes into successful processes?
> What processes went well today?
I remembered to get together with my group and figure out how we are going to do our project.
> Why did those processes succeed?
Because I figured out that if we don’t worry and get together right now, we are going to get way behind!
> What processes didn’t go well today?
I forgot to look for my brother’s sweatshirt for my Mom.
> Why did those processes not succeed?
I think I have too much other stuff I am thinking about!
> What changes can I make in the future to turn these non-successful processes into successful processes?
I need to write things down in a place where I see them better. Once I used a string on my backpack. I should do that again!

I found some good information when I was working on the native project.
~Why did the process succeed?
I thought I succeeded because I stuck to the what I wanted to find. Also I then found what I wanted to find.
~What processes didn’t go well?
Still focusing on global natives I couldn’t use the power point I found online it was a good one. The reason I couldn’t use it because it wasn’t by anyone.
~Why didn’t the processes succeed?
I really wanted to use it because we weren’t doing some of the slides so we could of read them and explained more.
